10 Things To Do During Spring

The sun is out and the birds are chirping! After a long winter, spring is finally here. We have a feeling you can’t wait to get out of the house so we put together a list of 10 things to do here at Smithville. From festivals to games to shopping this there are plenty of family  friendly things to do in spring weather.

  1. Grab an Iced Coffee from Cooks Corner and Stroll the Village
    Call an old friend, bring your dog, or even come by yourself…sometimes just a breathe of fresh air and a fresh brewed iced coffee does the trick.
  2. The Art Walk
    On April 21st from 10am-5pm the Village Greene fills up with all different types of artists. Walk through the Village and see artists display their pieces, most of which are also available to purchase. If you love to support local art and artists this event is perfect for you.
  3.  Say Hello to the Easter Bunny
    The Easter Bunny is at Smithville! The weekends of March 24th and March 31st, Saturday and Sunday, come find the Easter Bunny wondering throughout the village. He especially likes the Candy Shop and riding on the train, and he loves pictures!Easter Bunny Spring
  4. Spring Decorations from The Crafting Cellar
    Spring has sprung at The Crafting Cellar as they put out all of their new decorations for everything from St. Patricks day to Easter, or just simple spring art. They have the perfect garden and house decorations to buy for yourself or make great and thoughtful gifts for friends. 
  5. Pizza on the Patio
    The boardwalk is the perfect place to eat lunch outside on a beautiful day. Take a break from your day and get a slice of pizza from Costellos  and sit outside by the lake with a beautiful view of the village.
  6. #Selfies
    Spring time aesthetics at Smithville is unbeatable. The flower pots are filled to the brim throughout the whole village, and the garden near The Barn is just starting to bloom. 
  7. Geocaching
    If you haven’t heard of Geocaching, you might have just found your favorite new hobby. Geocaching is the worlds largest treasure hunt, and we have a few hidden right here in Smithville. Log on your phone and look for hints to find what secret notes others have left hidden for you. Heres a quick video on what exactly geocaching is…good luck!
  8. Train and Carousel
    All aboard! The train and carousel reopen as the weather turns and we can’t wait. Both are 2$ a person. The train will bring you throughout the village and if you ask the conductor they may let you ring the bell.
  9. Childrens Festival
    May 12th is our annual Childrens Festival. Face painting, sweets, games, and a lot more fun is going to be had. This event is perfect for kids of any age and is pet friendly as well!Arcade Games Spring
  10. Ice Cream Shoppe
    We all have the same thing on our mind… ice cream. Scoops Place reopens during the spring so come fulfill your sweet tooth cravings.
