Dorchester General Store

At the General store you might swap goose feathers for molasses, potatoes for salt, or hemlock bark for tea. Built in the 1870’s this store was a trading center for miles around. In addition to merchandise, a general  store like this  offered a meeting place for isolated people to socialize and do business.
