James B. Johnson Homestead
You’re looking at the most elegant dwelling in Historic Smithville. The front of this homestead was built in 1850, and the rear 1820. Its owner captained a two-masted sailing ship that carted goods up and down the American coast and as far away as the West Indies and South America. He spared no expense on the fancy woodwork and trim.
